OUR JOURNEY

History of University of Chakwal

1949

The Beginning

University of Chakwal is a progeny of Govt. Post Graduate College Chakwal, which has served as a beacon of excellence since its inception in 1949.

Combined with the faculty of engineering, the institution offers a broad arena of higher education in the region.

LEGACY

A Vision for Higher Education

The people of Chakwal had long aspired to establish an institution of higher learning. Khan Sahib Raja Sarfraz Khan came forward to transform that aspiration into reality.

As an M.L.A. of the then Punjab Assembly, he made a significant contribution to establishing the college and generously donated 305 kanals of valuable land for the institution.

2020
A NEW CHAPTER

On the same historic occasion, the bill establishing the University of Chakwal was presented in the Punjab Assembly by Raja Yasir Hamayun Sarfraz Khan, grandson of Khan Sahib Raja Sarfraz Khan, and was approved unanimously.
