Vice Chancellor Meets Governor of Punjab

Punjab Governor and Chancellor of the University of Chakwal, Sardar Saleem Haider Khan, met with the Vice Chancellor of the University of Chakwal, Prof. Dr. Farrukh Arslan Siddiqui, at the Governor's House in Lahore.

During the meeting, they discussed the university's ongoing academic, administrative, and development activities, newly introduced academic programs, the admissions campaign, future plans, and measures to further strengthen the institution as a high-quality center of higher education.

The Vice Chancellor briefed the Governor on the university's overall performance, stating that the institution currently has more than 5,000 students, with over 70% being female, reflecting significant progress in promoting women's higher education in the region.

He further informed the Governor that two new programs—Food Science and Technology and Psychology—had been launched for the 2026–27 academic year, both receiving an encouraging response from prospective students. Admissions across other departments have also increased considerably compared to last year, demonstrating growing confidence among students, parents, and the wider community.

Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan expressed satisfaction with the university's academic progress, the launch of new programs, and the notable rise in admissions. He commended the institution for achieving significant progress in teaching, research, and academic excellence within a relatively short period.

The Vice Chancellor also informed the Governor that the university's third graduating batch completed its studies in June this year and that preparations are underway for the institution's first convocation. He noted that the administration is making every effort to hold the ceremony at the earliest opportunity. The Governor directed that the first convocation be organized on a priority basis to appropriately recognize the achievements of the graduates.

The Governor assured the Vice Chancellor of the Governor's House's continued support for the university's development, the promotion of quality education, and institutional strengthening. He noted that Chakwal is his home region and that its people place great value on education. He reaffirmed his commitment to providing every possible support to help establish the University of Chakwal as a leading institution of higher education.

Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan also congratulated Prof. Dr. Farrukh Arslan Siddiqui on assuming office as Vice Chancellor, extended his best wishes, and expressed confidence that under his leadership, the University of Chakwal would continue to achieve greater success in academics, research, and administration while making a meaningful contribution to national development.
